Boreholes drilling by Arnish Point, Lewis and Little Loch Broom, 28 October - 21 November 2025

A jack up barge (JUB) will be performing nearshore geotechnical boreholes from 28th October 2025 to 21st November 2025. There will be twice daily crew transfers from Stornoway and Ullapool to the work sites. The jack-up will be towed to the work sites. 
The JUB will be positioned for borehole sampling in the landfalls located at Arnish Point, Lewis and Dundonnell, Little Loch Broom. A 200m exclusion zone will be enforced around the JUB at all times when in position and when under tow. Vessels are to take caution when navigating in this area and to pass well clear of the JUB.
The vessels will be conducting 24 hr working, with day & night shifts and shift changes at 0700 and 1900.
A continuous listening watch will be conducted on VHF Channel 14.
