Hydrographic Survey West L Roag, Lewis April - July 2026

Bakkafrost Scotland (BFS) will be carrying out two Hydrographic surveys in West Loch Roag. The proposed works are planned to start on 21st April 2026 and will last approximately 100 days, weather depending.

The survey vessel will be displaying the shapes and lights prescribed in the International Rules for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) Rule 27 and will be displaying the prescribed shapes and lights when the vessel is restricted in its ability to manoeuvre. Anybody with knowledge of any potential objects submerged or moored on the seabed within the survey area, that could be damaged or form a hazard to the vessel and its equipment advises BFS of their position and nature. When operations commence a listening watch will be maintained on VHF Channel 12 and 16.
