Hydrographic Survey west of Lewis October 2025

Bakkafrost Scotland will be carrying out a Hydrographic survey in the vicinity of the Eughlam South fish farm. The proposed works are planned to start on 16th September 2025 and will last approximately 40 days, weather depending. The deployment location will be marked by 1 yellow buoy, marked “survey”, and 1 orange buoy.
Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in this area.
Throughout operations, the vessel will be displaying the shapes and lights prescribed in the International Rules for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) Rule 27 and will be displaying the prescribed shapes and lights when the vessel is restricted in its ability to manoeuvre. Anybody having knowledge of any potential objects submerged or moored on the seabed, within the survey area, that could be damaged or form a hazard to the vessel and its equipment should advise BFS of their
position and nature. When operations commence a listening watch will be maintained on VHF Channel 12 and 16.
