Seabed Surveys East Loch Tarbert, Harris August - November 2026
Bakkafrost Scotland (BFS) will be carrying out two Hydrographic surveys near East Loch Tarbert, Isle of Harris. The proposed works are planned to start on Tuesday 25th August and will last approximately 100 days, weather depending.
Both deployment locations will be marked by 1 yellow buoy, marked “survey”, and one orange buoy. Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in these areas.
Throughout operations, the vessel will be displaying the shapes and lights prescribed in the International Rules for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) Rule 27 and will be displaying the prescribed shapes and lights when the vessel is restricted in its ability to manoeuvre. Anybody having knowledge of any potential objects submerged or moored on the seabed, within the survey areas, that could be damaged or form a hazard to the vessel and its equipment should advise BFS of their position and nature.
